I got a new kit last week! Normally I am not a kit girl….I would rather make up something totally different….but with this kit I kinda just had to have the packaged deal. If you want to purchase it too head on over to the Noble Quilter!
I can’t wait to start cutting those yummy yellow and tan fat quarters.
But these little beauties have to come first!
On Wednesdays, we always ask my little brother Carson, “What day is it?”. He goes through a couple different guesses……and he will tell us three descriptions of what Wednesday is….in his world, Wednesday is bath day, church day, and hUUUUUmp Day! (read it like that camel in the commercial) So today is Wednesday…..hump day. If you want to see some stinkin’ cute pictures of my sassy little brother, head over to my sister Hannah’s blog
I just about died with how cute the pictures were. Really I did!
I just want to warn everyone now that I am really bad at blogging…….I do it for awhile but then I stop…..so hope and pray with me that I will keep going! This time is different though….I have a word document with ideas for future blog posts! Yay!
Also because its Wednesday that also means its work in progress Wednesday!!!
Here are some of my projects that are in progress…..just so you know this is just some of them…. I am always starting new ones and always working on old ones.
Started this last night. Its been awhile since I have worked with wool. Excited to show you more pictures as the project progresses!
For the last two years I have carried Amy Butler’s Birdie Sling…….I love it!!! I have made two for myself and one for my mom. When I made my first one my family scoffed at me for carrying such a huge bag. Well, this past summer my mom has taken back those words. She started carrying one of mine and fell in love with it..and
demanded asked kindly for a new one.
My second one is getting a little worn out and dirty
I think its about time for a new one…..
I cut it out tonight. It really is a fast and easy bag 🙂
It doesn’t look like much right now but when I have time (precious commodity isn’t it?) I will sew it up. Personally I am slotting Sunday evening for that task….but life happens….only the Lord knows if I will get to it. 🙂
Check back in a couple days to see if I posted a finished product!! 😀
What’s a UFO you ask?
Well, its an UnFinished Object
And yes, though I am only eighteen I have UFO’s
This particular one was my first Block of the Month. I was around the age of 13 or 14 when I pieced it.
Pretty impressive huh?
Yeah, well I didn’t think so when I was blindly pushing and pulling this quilt through my small sewing machine naively freehand quilting and quilting in the ditch. Inevitably I got frustrated when I flipped the quilt only to discover that the back was full of puckers. So I folded the
little huge bugger and put it in my bedroom closet.
I pulled it out again tonight some years later. I now have a little more experience quilting my finished tops on my mom’s little machine (as a high school student I don’t have the money to always send my quilts out to a long arm quilter)
As I gazed at my quilting I am encouraged by how brave I was then. Endeavoring freehand patterns that I now wouldn’t even try for fear of ruining something.
Heartened by how little quilting I have left to do – I think I will try to finally finish it. But before I do, I think will tape that quilt to our huge tiled floor and pin like crazy!!!!!!
